Chickcharney Trap, 2012-2014

On the island of Andros, it is said that there is a mythical creature called the Chickcharney that lives in tall pine trees and drinks from blue holes. Legend has it that if you happen upon a Chickcharney and show respect, you are granted a life of well-being and good luck. However, it has been years since anyone has claimed to stumble upon one. And then it occurred to me in a dream, that if I could convince the Chickcharney to drink from my vessels, it would be pleased and grant me a life of well being. Conclusion, the Chickcharney Trap. These pieces were installed in the Catskill Creek for 24 hours while photographically documenting water currents.
