The Seawall, 2015

The Seawall is a series of porcelain coral objects installed on the rooftop of an apartment building in Harlem, NY after a snowstorm. Through sculptural abstraction, the piece expresses an ongoing inner dialogue of self-discovery within an environment contrary to the place I consider home [the Bahamas]. It seeks to re-conceptualize and preserve cultural themes using an artistic language composed of layers and textures referencing aquatic ecosystems. Fascinated by the co-existence of polar opposites, it strives to emphasize the elegance of organic growth.
